Free Mandarin session with games and a keychain-making activity about the Dongbei region of China, part of the Nottingham Confucius Institute's 'Travelling in China' series.
Mandarin Corner: Journey to the Northeast of China is at the Siyuan Center on Friday 6 November, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. It's part of the Nottingham Confucius Institute's Travelling in China series, which takes audiences on a journey through different regions of the country. Previous stops have included Chengdu, Xi'an, Beijing and Shanghai, and this one heads to the Northeast, known as Dongbei.
The hour and a half is built around interactive games and a hands-on activity: making and decorating your own keychain to take home, with the region's geography, cuisine and culture as the thread. The Confucius Institute runs the series in partnership with the CSSA, and no previous knowledge of Mandarin is required to take part, so you can turn up without having a word of the language under your belt.
