Double bill of comedy improvisation by Making it Up, with its Core Skills and Advanced improv groups each staging a piece created on the spot.
Making it Up are back at Nottingham Playhouse on Wednesday 9 December, with a double bill that puts two of their improv groups on the same stage. It's a showcase of the company's improvisation craft, and the bill brings together their Core Skills and Advanced groups for one night.
Each group takes a turn with a 20-25 minute piece of comedy theatre, both created on the spot and without scripts. That's the whole point of it: everything the audience sees is discovered in the moment, which means the show will never be seen again in the same form. It's a bit of a different way to see improv, with two separate pieces rather than one long set, so you get to see how two different groups handle the same blank canvas.

Between them, the two pieces run for about 40-50 minutes, and the whole evening lasts an hour. It's a good way to see the range of what the company does, from the Core Skills group to the Advanced one, both working from nothing and making it up as they go. The show starts at 20:45, and tickets are £4.00.
