Stand-up comedy Christmas show with Ross Noble, Fern Brady, Rose Matafeo, David O'Doherty and Jen Brister.
Live at Christmas comes to the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall on Friday 11 December, with a line-up of five comedians on one bill. It's a proper mixed bag of styles, so you'll get a few different kinds of comedy in one sitting rather than just one voice for the whole night.
Ross Noble is the big name here. Time Out calls him 'the supreme master of spontaneous stand-up', and that's a fair summary of how he works: he's known for turbo-charged improvisation and a chaotic charm that lets him roll with whatever happens in the room. You've probably seen him on QI and Have I Got News For You, where that same off-the-cuff approach comes through. He's joined by Fern Brady, who's made the Netflix Top 10, and David O'Doherty, the 'king of the tiny keys' and a regular on 8 Out of 10 Cats. Rose Matafeo, the creator of Starstruck and a BAFTA nominee, is also on the bill, and Jen Brister, known from Live At The Apollo, hosts the night.
Between them, they cover a fair bit of ground. You've got Noble's improvisation, O'Doherty's musical comedy, and the stand-up of Brady, Matafeo and Brister. It's the kind of line-up where you might find a few acts you're already familiar with and a couple you haven't seen before, all on the same stage.
