Jon Culshaw brings his new 2027 show, Me, Myself & Others, to Nottingham Playhouse on Thursday 1 April. He describes it as a whistle-stop tour of famous voices delivered through stand-up, stories, sketches and song, so it's a bit of everything rather than just a string of impressions.
Most of us know him from BBC Radio 4's Dead Ringers, where he's spent years taking on a whole gallery of public figures. That's the voice work he's most famous for, and it's a good place to start if you're not sure who he is. From there, his TV credits run through classic comedy series like Spitting Image, The Impressions Show and Newzoids, and over to Channel 4's award-winning docudrama Partygate.
He's as comfortable on stage as he is in a studio, too. Before this, he toured his solo comedy show Imposter Syndrome and played to packed houses in the one-man play Les Dawson: Flying High, which ran from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe through to a sell-out national tour. He also toured with the Dead Ringers 25th Anniversary Tour and appeared in a London Palladium pantomime. Beyond the comedy, he's worked as an actor and presenter, with The Final Take: Bowie in the Studio for the BBC, Unseen Academicals and a portrayal of Alan Whicker for The Other Side of the World.
