Beginner-friendly, hands-on screen printing workshop led by local artist Jane Stockley, where participants print their own tote bag.
Jane Stockley is leading a screen printing workshop at Lenton and Wortley Hall on Thursday 22 October, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Stockley is a local Nottingham artist, and this session is part of her time as artist in residence.
It's pitched as a beginner-friendly, hands-on introduction to screen printing, so you don't need to have ever touched a squeegee to get involved. The evening is about getting your hands dirty rather than watching from the sidelines: you'll be experimenting with bold colours and pop-art designs, and you'll print your own tote bag to take home at the end. It's a proper make-and-take session, so you leave with something you actually made.
There is one catch to keep in mind before you clear your evening. The workshop is open to ResX-supported students living in University Park, Jubilee Campus, Sutton Bonington and the listed Nottingham halls, so it's aimed at the student community rather than the general public. If you're in one of those halls, it's a good way to spend a couple of hours doing something creative with people from around your campus.
