Wine masterclass on Italian old vines led by Debbie Ault of Notts Derby Local Wine School at Broadway.
Notts Derby Local Wine School is running an Italian Old Vine Masterclass at Broadway on Friday 20 November, starting at 7:00pm. It's a focused session on old vine wines from Italy, and as the name suggests, the whole evening centres on that: the wines, the vines they come from, and what makes them different from the younger stuff.
The class is run by Debbie Ault, who leads the sessions in a fun, enthusiastic style. She's the face of Notts Derby Local Wine School, a local, independent wine education company here in the city. The school is part of the UK's leading provider of professional WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) courses and belongs to the Local Wine School Network, which they describe as the world's fastest-growing network of independent wine schools. Their classes are run by friendly tutors and are open to everyone, with no prior experience needed, so you don't need to know your Sangiovese from your Nebbiolo to get something out of it.

It's a small-scale operation with a bit of a track record, too — the school's events have been featured in the Daily Telegraph and Time Out Magazine. The masterclass is £40.00, and it's listed as sold out, so if you're looking for a spot, you'll need to keep an eye on their upcoming dates.
