Final concert of the Harmony at the Hall series, with The Helix Ensemble and Roger Coull playing Beethoven, Malcolm Arnold, Ruth Gipps and Mozart.
The Helix Ensemble return to Wollaton Hall on Sunday 8 November, the final concert of the 2026 Harmony at the Hall series. They're an award-winning string ensemble, and for this one, Roger Coull takes the podium.
The programme is a bit of a mix, pairing the well-known with the less so. They open with Beethoven's String Quartet op 135 (the Lento assai), arranged here for string orchestra. That's followed by Malcolm Arnold's Sinfonietta No 3, and Ruth Gipps' Seascape, written for wind octet. They close with Mozart's Symphony No 33.
The organisers describe the set as drawing on the hall's natural history setting, pairing the classical repertoire with the surroundings. It's the last of the Harmony at the Hall series for the year, so it's the final chance to catch one of these concerts before the series wraps up.
