Halloween-themed family bushcraft session run by Attenborough Nature Reserve at the Attenborough Nature Centre.
Attenborough Nature Reserve is running a Halloween Family Bushcraft session on Wednesday 28 October, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. It's a Halloween-themed family bushcraft morning, so it's built for taking the kids out and getting them stuck into something outdoorsy rather than just handing them a screen for the half-term break. The whole thing is run by the reserve, so it's their staff leading the session.
Bushcraft is basically the art of surviving and thriving in the wild, and they've given this one a spooky Halloween twist. It's a family session, which means it's designed for parents and children to work through together rather than a drop-off class. You'll be out in the reserve, working with your hands and learning a few outdoor skills, all with a Halloween theme running through it. It's the kind of thing that works best when you're actually doing it, so it's more about the activity than sitting and listening.
That brings us to the location. It's held at the Attenborough Nature Centre, on Barton Lane in Attenborough (NG9 6DY), which is a nature reserve on the edge of the city. It's a proper bit of green space, so you're getting the bushcraft experience without having to drive far out of Nottingham. Since it's a nature reserve, you'll be surrounded by the very thing you're learning to work with, which is half the point of a session like this.

It runs on Wednesday 28 October, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, so it's a mid-morning slot that leaves the rest of the day free. If you're looking for something to do with the family over the Halloween period, this is a good shout for a morning out in the fresh air.
