Indie rock band Gently Tender play The Bodega on Pelham Street, with support from HEKA and Sam and The Gods.
Gently Tender play The Bodega on Monday 2 November, part of their This Was Once Fields tour. They're a six-piece indie rock band from South London, formed from the ashes of Palma Violets, and this is one of the dates they're taking the tour across the country.
Their sound sits at a bit of a crossroads: lush harmonies and pastoral melodies mixed with touches of folk, punk and soul. It's that folk and soul side that gives the melodies their warmth, while the punk edge keeps it from drifting too far into the background. Their debut album came out in 2022 and was produced by Matthew E White, who's known for his work with artists like First Aid Kit and The Black Keys.
The night is a full bill, not just the headliners. Gently Tender are joined by HEKA and Sam and The Gods, so there are three acts to get through. It's a Monday night, which usually means a slightly different crowd than you'll find on a weekend, and the show is strictly for over-14s.
