Acoustic version of Alabama 3, with Larry Love, Devlin Love, Rock Freebase and Harpo Strangelove, in a standing-only room.
Alabama 3 are playing The Bodega on Sunday 1 November, and this one's a bit different from their usual. It's Alabama 3 Acoustic, the stripped-back version of the band, and the line-up on stage is Larry Love, Devlin Love, Rock Freebase and Harpo Strangelove.
If you're more used to their full-band shows, the change is pretty stark. The acoustic format takes the sound down to its essentials and puts it in an intimate setting, a far cry from the electronic-heavy production they're known for. It's the same core of people—Love, Love, Freebase and Strangelove—but with the electronics gone, the songs sit on their own.
The Bodega is a standing-only room, so you'll be on your feet for the night. The whole thing is restricted to over-14s, which is worth keeping in mind if you're bringing anyone younger along. Doors open at 19:00, and they're expecting to finish around 22:00, so it's a fairly straightforward evening: in, a few hours of music, and out by ten.
