Free panel discussion with young professionals from construction and the built environment about imposter syndrome, followed by a Q&A.
G4C East Midlands are hosting a panel discussion on imposter syndrome at Antenna in the Creative Quarter on Thursday 29 October, from 3.00pm to 5.00pm. It's an open and honest look at that feeling of not being experienced enough, of not belonging, or that everyone else knows what they're doing — the kind of thing that sticks with you even when you've put in the work.
They've framed it as something that shows up in boardrooms, on building sites, in classrooms and in therapy rooms, and that hits hardest when people grow into spaces they weren't always invited into. It's aimed at young professionals, students, apprentices and anyone working across construction and the built environment, but the theme reaches well beyond that. The panel is made up of people from across the sector sharing their own moments of self-doubt and the practical things that have helped them build confidence and move forward, whether they're just starting their career, stepping into a new role or have years of experience behind them.
The panel brings together three different perspectives: Victoria Aregbesola (MBACP), founder of Grassroots Counselling; Beth Slade, Account Director at Capgemini; and Fionn Boyle, Programme Director at Alpheus Environmental. After the discussion, there's a chance to put your own questions to the speakers and to meet and connect with other young professionals from across the East Midlands. It's as much about the conversation that follows as it is about the panel itself.
