Beginner-friendly workshop led by textile artist CharKnots to make an everlasting festive wreath using macramé and dried flowers.
CharKnots is running a festive wreath workshop at Handmade Nottingham on Sunday 20 December, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. It's a ninety-minute session where you make your own everlasting Christmas wreath using macrame and dried flowers, and you get to pick from a variety of colours, ribbons and dried flowers to put yours together. The macrame part means you're working with knots and cord rather than just wiring stems, and because it's dried flowers, the wreath lasts well beyond the festive season.
CharKnots is a local textile artist, and she's pitching this one as ideal for beginners, so you don't need any prior experience to join in. The sessions are kept small, with no more than ten people in a group, which makes it a bit easier to get a hand when you're figuring out a knot. There are drinks and mince pies provided on the day, and you just show your email confirmation at the door to get in.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Nottingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

If you've got a group of your own, there's also the option to book the class as a private workshop. Otherwise, it's a Sunday evening in the city, so it works as a bit of a pre-Christmas activity. The workshop is at Handmade Nottingham, 8 King's Walk, Nottingham NG1 2AE, on Sunday 20 December, 5:00-6:30 pm.
