Everybody's Talking About Jamie plays at the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall from Monday 7 to Saturday 12 June 2027. The musical follows sixteen-year-old Jamie New, a teenager from a Sheffield council estate who discovers drag and works his way through the prejudice with the help of his mum. It's a coming-of-age story that won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical, and the score is made up of catchy pop tunes written by Dan Gillespie Sells, lead singer-songwriter of The Feeling, and Tom MacRae, known for his work on Doctor Who. The Daily Telegraph called it 'funny, outrageous, touching', while The Times described it as a 'sparkling coming-of-age musical'.
This particular production arrives in Nottingham after a record-breaking three-year West End residency, two sold-out UK and Ireland tours, and an award-winning Amazon Studios film. It's billed as the show's 10th Anniversary Tour, and it comes with a brand-new song added to the original score.
