Stand-up comedy show by Dan Tiernan, a three-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee known for his distinctive voice.
Dan Tiernan brings his show Quartz and All to Nottingham Playhouse on Saturday 6 February 2027. It's a full evening of stand-up, starting at 8pm and running for two hours.
Tiernan is a Mancunian comedian who's spent the last few years building a serious reputation on the festival circuit. He's been nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award three times: Best Newcomer in 2023, and Best Comedy Show in both 2025 and 2026. He also picked up a Most Outstanding Show nomination at the 2026 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Along the way, he's taken home two awards, BBC New Comedian of the Year and British Comedian of the Year, both in 2022. The Guardian has called him 'one of comedy's most distinctive new voices'.
On stage, he works from a very specific place: he's a gay, dyspraxic Mancunian who works in a care home for young asylum seekers. That's the ground the set comes from, and the critics describe the result as loud, inventive, visceral, unhinged and crude comedy with a big payoff. It's not the kind of thing that plays it safe, and it's not exactly subtle, but it's built on a clear sense of who he is.

Beyond the festivals, he's a regular on the TV circuit, with appearances on Live at the Apollo, 8 Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown, The Last Leg and QI. Quartz and All is the show he's touring, and it's the one that's been picking up those nominations over the last couple of years.
Tickets are £20 for general admission and £17 for members, with a non-refundable £2.50 booking fee per order. It starts at 8pm on Saturday 6 February at Nottingham Playhouse, and runs for two hours.
