Free Sunday-morning group led by energy healer Richard Flewitt to explore the bigger questions of life and our connection to something larger than ourselves.
Conscious Gathering meets at the Lace Market Hotel on Sunday 25 October, starting at 11:00. It's a Sunday-morning group founded by Richard Flewitt, an energy healer, leadership coach and intuitive guide who's spent several years feeling called to create a space like this. He describes it as a safe, nurturing room in which to explore the bigger questions of life and how we're connected to something larger than ourselves, without judgement.
The session follows a set pattern. It opens with a recorded 20-minute guided mindfulness and connection practice of voice and music, which settles the room before things open up. That's followed by open sharing, then a break to buy drinks from the cafe, and a return to the room to continue the conversation around the Question of the Day. It's a slow-paced morning, with the mindfulness practice acting as a common starting point for everyone in the room.
There's a non-commercial side to how it's run: the sessions are led by volunteers in venues that offer their space in return for participants enjoying the cafe or bar afterwards, so as long as people buy drinks or snacks there's no charge. It's open to everyone regardless of background, gender, race, neurodiversity, politics or religion, and it isn't Spiritualist, religious or intended as therapy. The focus is on the conversation and the connection rather than any particular belief system.
