Free Christmas market with craft stalls, seasonal celebrations and small businesses at Ravenshead Library.
Ravenshead Library is hosting a Christmas Market on Saturday 5 December, one of several markets running across Nottinghamshire libraries this season. It's a free event, so there's nothing to pay to get through the door.
What you'll find inside is a mix of craft stalls and seasonal celebrations, with the whole thing acting as a showcase for small businesses and hobbyists. It's the kind of place where you can pick up something handmade from someone who probably makes it in their own kitchen or workshop, rather than a high-street gift. If you've been looking for a few unique presents that don't come off a shelf in a chain, this is a good spot to start.
There's a bit more to it than just the shopping, too. The markets are part of a wider effort by the libraries to bring communities together, so it's as much about the people as it is about the stalls. It's a chance to see what local makers are up to and to run into neighbours you might not otherwise cross paths with. If you're in the area and fancy a wander, it's an easy one to drop into.
