Christmas comedy night at Metronome with circuit comedians Oliver Bowler, Mike Newall, Mandy Muden and Dave Longley.
Just the Tonic are bringing a Christmas comedy special to Metronome on Saturday 19 December, with four circuit comedians on the bill. It's a proper mixed bag of styles, and since it's a Christmas special, it's one of those nights that works as a group outing as much as a solo trip.
Oliver Bowler opens the night, a natural performer whom The Laughรฏenda Comedy Club has compared to Peter Kay and Lee Evans. Mike Newall follows, described by The List as a master of the art of comedy and effortlessly likeable. Mandy Muden brings a different energy, called very unique, very likeable and very naughty by Simon Cowell. And Dave Longley, a regular compere, is the one The List calls acid-tongued and as sharp as a barrel full of tacks. Between them, you've got the broad, the likeable, the naughty, and the sharp, so there's a bit of something for everyone.
Just the Tonic bills itself as boasting the most interesting line-ups in the country, a claim The Times has picked up on. Metronome is on Marco Island, Huntingdon Street, in the NG1 area. It's now a cashless venue, so you'll need a card for anything you buy on the night. If you're after a pre-show meal, Peter Pizzeria on Pepper Street, Bridlesmith Gate, is about a seven-minute walk away and does pre-order pizza.
