Christmas comedy night with circuit comedians Angelos Epithemiou, Tom Taylor, Olivia Lee and Imran Yusuf at the Just the Tonic room in Metronome.
Just The Tonic are back at Metronome on Saturday 12 December, with a four-act bill that pulls from a few different corners of the circuit. The night is part of their Christmas run, so it's one of those early-December slots that works as a proper night out before the holiday madness really kicks in.
Angelos Epithemiou is the big name on the bill, known from Shooting Stars and The Rob Brydon Show. Beside him is Tom Taylor, whom Isy Suttie once called 'the best jumper in comedy' and who's earned a reputation for really, really well-written jokes. Olivia Lee brings a different energy — Sky News described her stand-up as 'explicit, candid and very funny' — and Imran Yusuf rounds it out; Time Out gave his debut four stars, calling it 'the birth of a new comedy star' and describing the work as intelligent, thought-provoking and laugh-out-loud funny. Between them, you've got the character stuff, the tight writing, the candidness, and the more considered, thoughtful side of things, so it's a fair spread rather than one specific style.
Just The Tonic bills itself as consistently boasting 'the most interesting line-ups in the country', and this one fits that description well enough. It's a good mix of names you might recognise from the telly and comedians who've built their reputations on the circuit, so there's plenty to get stuck into across the four sets.
