Three-hour introduction to lino printing to make handmade Christmas cards, with all materials provided and a hot drink served.
Attenborough Nature Reserve is running a Christmas card lino print workshop on Saturday 21 November, a three-hour introduction to lino printing that takes you from a blank piece of lino to a finished set of handmade cards. It's run by the reserve itself, and the whole thing is guided step by step by an expert facilitator, so you'll be walked through the basics of the craft rather than left to figure it out on your own. You start with the initial design, carve it out, and then print it, and you'll leave with a set of cards to send to friends and family.
One of the better things about it is that you don't need any previous experience to join in, and all the materials are provided, so you just need to turn up. The session takes place in the reserve's private Community Room, which sits at the rear of the visitor centre and looks out across the water, and everyone is served a hot seasonal drink and a festive sweet treat while they work. It's a relaxed way to spend a Saturday afternoon, and you get something useful out of it for the Christmas post.

If you're in the mood for more, this is part of a wider festive programme at the reserve, which also includes a willow Christmas decoration workshop and a terrarium workshop. The lino print session starts at 13:00 and runs for three hours, and tickets are £40.00. You'll find it at Attenborough Nature Reserve, Attenborough, Nottingham NG9 6DY.
