Candlelight concert in which the 41 Degrees Quartet plays the best-known songs of Ed Sheeran and Coldplay under flickering candles.
Nottingham Contemporary hosts a Candlelight concert on Saturday 24 October, with the 41 Degrees Quartet performing songs by Ed Sheeran and Coldplay. It's part of a series that brings live strings into a room lit by flickering candles, so you'll hear these songs stripped back and played close up rather than as stadium pop.
The set draws from both artists' catalogues. From Coldplay, you'll get Yellow, Fix You, The Scientist, Viva la Vida and A Sky Full of Stars. Ed Sheeran's side of things brings Perfect, Photograph, Bad Habits, Shivers and Give Me Love. It's a tribute, not a performance by the artists themselves, so the 41 Degrees Quartet handles the arrangements on strings.

The venue is Nottingham Contemporary on Weekday Cross, a modern arts centre with a lace-patterned facade that sits in a sharper, more contemporary contrast to the candlelight than some of the city's older spaces. The concert starts at 18:00, and tickets are £25. If that date doesn't work, there are further performances on 21 November, 11 December, 12 December 2026, 16 January and 20 February 2027.
