Free board game meetup run by the Board Gamers of Nottingham, with a selection of games to try and experienced players to teach newcomers.
Board Gamers of Nottingham are hosting a board game session at Pitcher and Piano on Sunday 1 November, from 1:30pm to 8pm. It's held in the Terrace Room, which is separate from the main building, so keep that in mind when you're heading in. The venue is The Unitarian Church on High Pavement, NG1 1HN.
BGON is a modern board game meetup group that welcomes newcomers to the hobby, and they'll have plenty of experienced players on hand to teach you new games if you're just starting out. You're encouraged to bring along your own games, and the organisers provide a taster selection to get things moving. It's a casual, open-table sort of afternoon, so you can drop in and play for an hour or two, or settle in for the full stretch.
The group runs to a code of conduct that covers respectful play and accommodation for sensory needs. There's also a no plus-ones rule, which means every attendee needs to sign up individually rather than bringing a guest along on one booking. If you're planning on coming with a group, just make sure everyone's signed up separately.

It's free to attend, and since it's a pub, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, and standard pub food like burgers are available throughout the day. The session runs from 1:30pm to 8pm on Sunday 1 November at Pitcher and Piano, Terrace Room, High Pavement.
