BB49 Lunch and Laugh

BB49 Lunch and Laugh comes to the East Midlands Conference Centre on Sunday 25 October, running from 12:00 to 16:00. It's a new early-bird twist on the Back Before Nine Comedy Nights, pairing a traditional Sunday lunch with a live comedy club atmosphere. The afternoon is a partnership between Nottingham Venues, which hosts events across the University of Nottingham campus, and BB49 Comedy, known for staging high-quality, affordable shows and booking some of the UK's most respected comedians.

The day starts with lunch in the venue's award-winning banqueting suite, and from there you move into the tiered theatre for the stand-up. The comedy is hosted by resident MC Scott Bennett, with headline sets from Suzi Ruffell and Alun Cochrane. The three acts each bring a distinctive style and nationally recognised credentials, so you get a good range of voices across the afternoon rather than one particular tone. It's a full programme, not just a couple of spots between courses.

Lunch and Laugh is billed as the first event of its kind in Nottingham, and it sits within a thriving local comedy scene where local artists work alongside big names. The format lets you get your Sunday roast and a full line-up of stand-up in one go, and you're back home by mid-afternoon rather than late into the night.

Tickets are £40 per person, which covers the Sunday lunch, the full comedy programme and complimentary parking. It runs from 12:00 to 16:00 at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Beeston Lane, Nottingham, NG9 2RJ.
