Zine-making workshop with a dream theme, hosted by @vevmoo, part of the Art Café series at The Carousel.
The Carousel hosts a zine workshop this Saturday 24 October, with a dream theme for the session. It's part of Art Café, a series that launched on Saturday 26 September and is run by @vevmoo, who also hosts this particular workshop. The session runs from 11:00am to 2:00pm, three hours to get a zine together from start to finish.
If you're not familiar, a zine is a self-published, small-circulation work — usually handmade and photocopied — and the dream theme gives you a starting point to work from. You can lean into the surreal, the strange, or the half-remembered things that come back to you when you wake up, and the three-hour window is plenty of time to build a few pages and bind them into something you can take home. It's as much about the process of making as the finished thing, so it works whether you've got a clear idea in mind or just want to see where the theme takes you.

The workshop is aimed at ages 16 and over, so it's a good one to bring a friend along to. It's held at The Carousel, 25 Hockley, NG1 1FH, right in the heart of the city. Tickets are £5, and that includes a free tea to keep you going while you work. If you're after a quiet Saturday morning spent making something by hand, this is a straightforward way to spend it. 11:00am to 2:00pm, £5 with a free tea included.
