An evening with motorsport legend Nigel Mansell CBE on stage, sharing an insight into his Formula 1 career.
Nigel Mansell CBE is coming to the Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday 6 July 2027, for an evening that's billed as a full insight into his career, with the driver himself on stage. If you've followed Formula 1, you know the name, but this is a chance to hear the story in his own words rather than through a highlight reel.
He started racing in British Formula Ford at 15 and worked his way up to Formula 3, where he caught the eye of Colin Chapman of Lotus, who hired him as a test driver. He joined the team's main Formula 1 line-up in 1980, and from there his F1 career spanned 15 seasons between 1980 and 1995, driving for Lotus, Williams, Ferrari and McLaren. He became World Champion in 1992 with Williams.
He spent two years at Ferrari and is the last driver to be personally selected by Enzo Ferrari, a fact that sits alongside the 'Il Leone' (The Lion) nickname he earned for his brave and determined racing style. That's the kind of thing you'll get more of on the night — the career from the early days through to the world title and the years in Italy.
