Daytime indie party for over-30s with DJs from Old School Indie and Feeling Gloomy playing indie classics across the decades.
An Afternoon of Indie comes to Saltbox - Live Music, Bar & Kitchen on Saturday 23 January, from 3pm to 7pm. It's the daytime sibling of Old School Indie, the club night built for the over-30s, and for this one they've teamed up with Feeling Gloomy and Age Against The Machine to bring the format into the afternoon.
On the decks are DJs from Old School Indie and Feeling Gloomy, playing a mix of indie classics across the decades. The set runs from 70s punk and 80s new wave through to 90s Britpop and early 00s indie, so it covers a fair bit of ground. The organisers describe it as the UK's biggest indie party, and it's been staged in 17 cities and counting.
The music doesn't stop at indie, either. The set reaches across the indie canon and pulls in the odd bit of rock n roll, soul, northern soul and ska along the way. It's a strictly over-30s room, so you'll need ID at the door, and last entry is at 6pm.
