Series of practical creative workshops at Norwich University of the Arts exploring queerness and LGBTQ+ identities across fine art, character design, graphic communication, film & photography and fashion & textiles.
QUEERiosity returns to Norwich University of the Arts on Wednesday 21 October, starting at 17:30. It's a project run by the university that invites you to explore queerness and LGBTQ+ identities through a series of practical workshops, rather than just sitting and listening. The sessions run across a fair few disciplines — fine art, character design, graphic communication, film and photography, and fashion and textiles — so you can pick the ones that actually interest you.
Each workshop is practical, meaning you'll be making things rather than just talking about them. The sessions also highlight the work of LGBTQ+ artists, so you'll get to see how other queer creators have worked their way through similar themes. If you're not sure which one to start with, you can mix and match across the different disciplines.
There's a bit more to it than just the workshops, too. A final piece from the series is shown in an online showcase, so whatever you make gets a place to be seen. And if you stick with it — three workshops is the magic number — you'll get an official digital certificate of attendance. It's aimed at students aged 14 and over, so it's open to a pretty wide age range.

One thing that's worth knowing is that the sessions are recorded. If you book a spot but can't make it in person, you can still catch up on the recording later. It starts at 17:30 at Norwich University of the Arts in Norwich.
