Live show by knitting, the Montreal indie rock trio, at the Norwich Arts Centre as part of the PONY UP series.
knitting play the Norwich Arts Centre on Wednesday 3 February, part of the PONY UP series of live music nights. It's a standing event, so you'll be on your feet for this one.
They're a guitar-driven indie rock trio — Mischa Dempsey, Sarah Harris and Andy Mulcair — who came out of Montreal's DIY scene. They describe their sound as lyrical introspection filtered through a warping, slacker-rock lens, and that's a fair place to start. Their debut album, Some Kind of Heaven, came out on Mint Records in 2024 and spent five weeks at number one on the Canadian campus radio charts. It earned them comparisons to DIIV, Hole and Alex G, and took them to SXSW and on tour across Canada, the US, the UK and Europe.
They followed it up in June 2026 with Souvenir, also on Mint Records, which they describe as an introspective and at times deeply existential second album. Between the two, there's a good bit of material to draw from for a single night.
