Pop-up vintage marketplace with furniture, homewares, lighting and collectables from the 1940s to the 1970s.
Midcentury Markets is coming to Creative Quarter Over the Water on Sunday 18 October, bringing its pop-up vintage marketplace to Norwich for the day. It's a one-day event, so if you're after something specific, you'll want to get there while the best bits are still on the tables.
The focus is on the mid-century era, with furniture, homewares, lighting and collectables from the 1940s through to the 1970s. That's a fair bit of ground to cover—everything from the post-war austerity of the forties and the atomic-age optimism of the fifties, through to the bold colours and plastics of the sixties and seventies. You'll find the big pieces like sideboards and armchairs alongside the smaller things: glassware, ceramics, and the kind of lighting that defines the look. It's a curated line-up of specialist traders, so you're looking at authentic pieces rather than modern reproductions.
Midcentury Markets started at Liverpool's Penny Lane Church in 2023 and has since toured different cities across the UK, bringing that same mix of nostalgia and sustainability to each stop. The whole point is about giving older, well-made things a second life rather than buying new, and the traders they bring in are specialists in this particular era. If you've been hunting for a specific piece of mid-century design, this is a good place to find it without having to scour a dozen different shops.
