Free weekend market with handmade gifts, art, home décor and treats from local independent artisans and small brands.
The Folk and Bespoke Artisan Makers Market takes over The Atrium at The Forum on Saturday 14 November, from 10am to 3pm. It's a day for handmade gifts, art, home décor and treats, all from local artisans. If you're looking for something a bit more thoughtful than the usual high street, this is a good place to start.
The market was set up by Katy, who wanted a regular spot for quality bespoke artists and small local brands to show and sell their work without it costing them a fortune. It's aimed at anyone who likes to shop small and local, and it brings together a wide range of makers under one roof: independent artists, small fashion brands, jewellery makers, bakers, health and beauty makers, candle makers, potters and ceramicists. You'll find everything from home fragrance and ceramics to jewellery and baked goods, so it's as much about picking up a few bits for yourself as it is about sorting early Christmas gifts.
Being in the heart of Norwich, the market leans on a warm community atmosphere, with live music and the chance to meet the makers and support small independent businesses. It's not just about the stalls; you can actually talk to the people who made the things you're looking at. The Norwich date is part of a wider series of markets held across Norfolk, the East and the South, so this is one of several stops on their circuit.
