Retail expert and author Mary Portas gives the talk 'I Shop, Therefore I Am' at Jarrolds, with book signing, as part of the Norwich Book Festival.
Mary Portas is coming to Jarrolds on Tuesday 27 October, as part of the Norwich Book Festival. She'll be giving a talk titled I Shop, Therefore I Am, and it's set up as a conversation with Georgy Jamieson rather than a solo speech. There's book selling and signing on the night too, so you can get a copy and have it signed after the talk.
If you've come across her name before, you probably know her as a retail expert and author. This is one of the author conversations that make up the festival's programme, so it's more of a chat than a lecture. The title I Shop, Therefore I Am gives you a good steer on what she'll be talking about — retail, shopping, and the way we relate to it all.
The talk is part of the Norwich Book Festival, which runs from 24 to 30 October 2026, so there's plenty more going on across the city that week if you're in the mood for more than one event. Portas is just one of the authors and speakers appearing as part of the festival's wider line-up.

It's at Jarrolds, 1-11 London Street, NR2 1JF, on Tuesday 27 October, from 6pm to 7pm. With the book sale and signing happening there as well, it's a good one to arrive a bit early for if you want to make sure you get your copy signed.
