Political commentator and author Iain Dale talks about the corridors of power and the pressures of the studio in conversation with Chris Gribble, followed by book sales and a signing.
Iain Dale is coming to the Octagon Chapel on Saturday 24 October, as part of the Norwich Book Festival. He'll be in conversation with Chris Gribble, and the talk is listed under the festival's Politics & People and Memoir categories.
If you don't know him, Dale is one of Britain's most visible political commentators and broadcasters. He presents the evening show on LBC Radio and is a regular on Good Morning Britain, Question Time and Newsnight. He also puts out two podcasts, Where Politics Meets History and the award-winning For the Many, and writes columns for The Telegraph, The New Statesman and The Spectator. He's a visiting professor of politics and broadcasting at the University of East Anglia, so he's a familiar face around the city.
He's written or edited more than fifty books, including Why Can't We All Just Get Along..., The Prime Ministers and Margaret Thatcher, which has sold over a million copies in the twenty-five years since it came out. He describes the talk as an insider's guide to the corridors of power and the pressures of the studio, drawing on his life across business, politics and the media. It's a conversation that pulls from all three, so it should cover a fair bit of ground.
