Halloween-themed flash fiction writing workshop with exercises and mini sprints at The Forum during the Norwich Book Festival.
The Forum is hosting a Halloween Flash Fiction Writing Workshop on Monday 26 October, from 7.30pm to 9pm. It's one of the sessions running as part of the Norwich Book Festival, which takes over the city from 24 to 30 October, so there's plenty more going on around the festival dates if you're in the mood for a full week of it.
The session is held in The Imaginarium, inside The Forum, and it's built around flash fiction—stories told in a very small number of words. If you've never come across it before, that's where the workshop starts: you'll find out what flash fiction actually is, and then you'll get to practice it through a series of writing exercises and mini sprints. The sprints are the fast-paced part, where you write against the clock, so you'll leave with a few completed pieces rather than just a half-finished idea. The whole thing is themed around Halloween, which fits the timing.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Norwich and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's a hands-on evening, so you'll be writing as much as you're listening. If you've always wanted to try your hand at short stories but never knew where to start, this is a good way to get a few pages down in one go. It runs from 7.30pm to 9pm, and tickets are under £10.
