A funny and moving play about life, choices and bonds, following three very different women brought together by breast cancer.
Tits Up! opens at Live Theatre on Tuesday 13 October, the first stop of a five-venue tour that runs through to 28 October. It's a play about three very different women brought together by breast cancer: Tina, a devoted mother; Rachel, a career-driven businesswoman; and Rosie, a rebellious spirit. The three of them come from different walks of life, but they're all dealing with the same diagnosis, and the play follows them as they navigate it together.
It's described as powerfully funny and deeply moving, and the focus is on the bonds that carry people through the rollercoaster of emotions anyone who's travelled that road will recognise. It's as much about life and the choices we make as it is about the illness itself, and it doesn't shy away from the humour that often crops up in the middle of the hard stuff.
On stage are Crissy Rock, Leah Bell, Alison Stanley and Rosie Fox. The play was written by Alison Stanley, who also performs in it, and directed by Katherine Newman. It runs for around an hour and twenty minutes with no interval, so it's a single stretch of storytelling from start to finish.
