Premiere screening of the concert film 'Sam Fender - Live at London Stadium' at Tyneside Cinema, with a Q&A and a Geordie-themed supper club, as part of the 2026 Mercury Prize Fringe.
Sam Fender comes back to the city on Saturday 17 October, this time as a film. Tyneside Cinema is screening Sam Fender - Live at London Stadium, a concert film that captures his headline show at London Stadium on 5 June 2025. It's an 18 certificate, 90-minute screening, and it's part of the 2026 Mercury Prize Fringe.
That night in London was a big one: a sold-out crowd of more than 80,000 fans. Olivia Dean joined him on their record-breaking number one hit 'Rein Me In', and the Easington Colliery Brass Band made an appearance too. The film brings that whole thing to the screen, so you get to see the scale of it without having to travel to the capital. After the film, there's a Q&A with the people who put it together: directors Toby L and Kit Monteith, producer Josh Connolly, and Polydor Records creative director Semera Khan. If you've got questions about how they filmed a show that size, that's your chance to ask them.
There's a bit more to the evening than just the screening. It's preceded by a Geordie-themed supper club of small plates paired with Anarchy Brew Co. beer, with meat and vegan options like honey-glazed pigs in blankets and homemade vegan sausage rolls. If you're coming from out of town or just fancy a proper sit-down before the film starts, that's the way to do it.
