A post-punk and alternative rock performance by the band Gurriers at Newcastle University Students Union.
Gurriers play Newcastle University Student Union on Thursday 15 October, presented by Notion Live. It's a single-band bill, so they're the only name on the poster for the night.
If you're not familiar with them, they sit in that post-punk and alternative rock territory, with punk running through it as well. It's the kind of sound that fits right into the city's guitar scene — angular, loud, and leaning into the raw side of things rather than the polished. The set will be built around that, with the post-punk influence providing the drive and the alternative rock side opening it up.
It's a mid-week one, which is always a bit of a different vibe from the usual weekend run. The venue is the Student Union, so you're right in the heart of the university area. If you've spent any time around the SU, you know the sort of room it is — a proper gig space that does its best work when the room is full and the music is loud.

The night starts at 7:00 PM, so you've got the evening to get sorted before heading in. It's a Thursday, which means you can get your fix of live music and still be home in time for the rest of the week.
