North East's biggest and most spectacular pantomime, with Danny Adams as Jack Trot, on the Grey Street stage.
Jack and the Beanstalk opens at the Theatre Royal on Tuesday 24 November, running through to Sunday 17 January. It's the North East's biggest pantomime, staged on the Grey Street stage, and the venue's fastest-selling show — over 60,000 tickets have already been allocated.
The story is the one you know: Jack Trot climbs a beanstalk of epic proportions up to Cloudland, where he has to outwit an evil giant to win a fortune for his family. The production leans on comedy and special effects for family audiences, and the run includes audio-described, captioned and BSL performances, as well as relaxed shows.
The cast mixes pantomime regulars with Newcastle favourites and musical theatre stars. Danny Adams takes the title role of Jack Trot, with Clive Webb as Farmer Trot and Chris Hayward as Dame Trot. Joe McElderry plays the Spirit of the Beans, Mick Potts is Pat the Cow, Wayne Smith takes on Fleshcreep, Rachel Stanley is the Queen, and Oonagh Cox plays Princess Jill.
