Newcastle West music festival spanning nine venues and ten stages with more than 300 local musicians, featuring a dedicated all-ages program.
West Best Bloc Fest returns to Newcastle West on Sunday 4 October, its fifth year running. It's a one-day festival that takes over the heart of Midtown, with ten stages spread across nine venues. More than 300 local musicians are on the bill, and the whole thing is billed as the city's biggest showcase of local music.
William Crighton leads the lineup, and there are a few new collaborations to look out for. Impulse Response takes over Bernie's Bar, headlined by Assembler Code, and there's a jazz programme from NIMA x Maru HiFi, curated by the Newcastle Improvised Music Association (NIMA). With ten stages running throughout the day, you can move between venues and catch different acts as they go.
This year introduces a dedicated all-ages programme for younger fans to discover the city's emerging local talent. All-ages tickets give access to six of the stages across participating venues, plus a custom all-ages activation. It's a good way to get younger crowds into the mix alongside the rest of the day.
