Art exhibition by the Tuesday Connect group at the Hunter Wetlands Centre, with artworks on sale.
Tuesday Connect are showing at the Hunter Wetlands Centre in Shortland, with their group exhibition running from 26 June to 23 July 2026. The launch was on Tuesday 21 July, so if you've missed the opening, you've still got a few days to catch it before it closes.
Tuesday Connect is exactly what it sounds like: a group of artists who get together to paint every Tuesday at the Society of Artists Newcastle Art Rooms in Lambton Park. This show brings that weekly habit out into the public, with a collection of work from the group. The exhibition is built around the natural habitat of the wetlands, and all the pieces are for sale, with a percentage of the sale price going back to the centre.
That's where the venue comes in. The Hunter Wetlands Centre is a volunteer organisation, with more than 160 volunteers giving their time to help protect and restore the wetlands. So when you buy a piece, a part of it goes straight back into that work. It's a group show, and the artworks are on sale throughout the run, which means you can take something home while helping the centre keep doing what it does.
