Exhibition by Studio La Primitive with expressive drawings, paintings and ceramics exploring human behaviour.
Eric and Robyn Werkhoven are showing at Cstudios Gallery from 7 to 21 November, with the exhibition running Wednesday to Saturday, 10:30am to 3pm. The show is titled Antics and comes from their practice as Studio La Primitive.
It's a mixed exhibition, so you'll find a few different things to look at in one room. There are expressive drawings, paintings and ceramics, and the common thread across them is human behaviour. That's a broad enough subject that you can bring your own reading to it, but the title Antics gives you a starting point — it suggests the more playful, erratic or absurd side of how we act, rather than the heavy stuff.
Having drawings, paintings and ceramics together means the work moves from the flat wall into the round, so you'll be stepping around the ceramics as much as standing back from the paintings. If you're into the way a single idea can be worked across different materials, that's the main thing to see here.
