The Superjesus and Chocolate Starfish co-headline a live music event at the Newcastle Harness Racing Club as part of the Carnival of Cups.
The Superjesus are playing the Newcastle Harness Racing Club on Friday 8 January 2027, as part of the Carnival of Cups. They're bringing their new self-titled album to the stage, so you'll hear the latest material alongside the older songs they're known for.
They aren't the only name on the bill. Chocolate Starfish are co-headlining, so the two bands share the top of the line-up. Underneath them, The Chair—a silverchair tribute act—takes the stage, and Australia's Got Talent finalist Joe Moore is on the bill too. Local duo Emily A Smith and Anna Weatherup round out the music, so the afternoon builds from the local support up to the headliners.
The music is just one part of the day. The Carnival of Cups mixes harness racing with live music and trackside entertainment, and it's billed as free family entertainment. On the track, the racing programme includes the A$100,000 Steel City Cup and the A$75,000 TAB Regional Championships Hunter Final, so the big races run alongside the music.

The whole thing kicks off at 4:30 pm at the Newcastle Harness Racing Club on Jackson St in Broadmeadow.
