A musical tribute to the Beatles performed by The Fab Four at the Civic Theatre in Newcastle.
The Fab Four are playing the Civic Theatre on Wednesday 10 March, bringing their Beatles tribute act to Newcastle. They're an internationally touring show from the United States, so this is a long way from home for them.
The whole thing is built around impersonation. The act features performers who take on the roles of John, Paul, George, and Ringo, and they don't stop there — Ed Sullivan makes an appearance too. It's a full-cast approach, with each member of the band stepping into the shoes of one of the original four, and Sullivan added to the mix.
Musically, they cover the ground the Beatles did: rock, classic rock, and Merseybeat. It's a broad run of the sounds they're known for, rather than sticking to one era or style. The show has been reviewed by The New York Times, The Guardian, Pitchfork, and The Times, so it's a production that's seen a fair bit of press on its way over here.
