A night of the best cycling short films from around the world, for two-wheel devotees.
The Big Bike Film Night comes to Tower Cinemas on Friday 21 August, bringing together a collection of cycling short films from around the world. It's a curated programme that runs for about two and a half hours, pulling together action, drama, humour and inspiration for anyone who spends their time on two wheels.
The 2026 collection takes you across a fair few borders in one sitting. You'll see the landscapes of Norway, the peaks around Queenstown in New Zealand, the West Coast of Canada, Scotland and the slopes of Mont Ventoux in Southern France. It's a broad reach for a single night — from the Scandinavian north down to the south of France, with a good stretch of the Southern Hemisphere in between. The short film format keeps things moving, so you get a lot of different riding and different parts of the world without having to commit to a full-length feature on any one of them.
The night is presented in partnership with Nga Haerenga Great Rides of New Zealand, and there's a trip to New Zealand up for grabs as part of the evening. If you're already into cycling, that's a pretty decent incentive to be in the room.
