A Spanish-language storytime session with songs, rhymes, stories and music for children aged 0-5, suitable for Spanish-speaking families and others.
Spanish Rock n Rhyme Storytime runs every second Tuesday during school terms at Newcastle City Library, with sessions from 10:00 to 10:45am. It's a 45-minute drop-in for families with children aged 0 to 5, and the whole thing is conducted in Spanish.
The session is built around a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs and music, all put together for the under-fives. It's aimed at Spanish-speaking families, but it's just as much for anyone who wants to get a feel for the language — you don't need to be fluent to bring your little ones along and have them pick up some Spanish through the songs and stories. Because it's a drop-in, there's no need to book in advance; you just turn up on the day.
It runs every second Tuesday during school terms, so it's a regular thing you can work into your routine rather than a one-off. The dates coming up are Tuesday 21, 04, 18, 01, 15 July 2026; 13, 27 October 2026; 08, 10, 24 November 2026; and 08 December 2026. If you're planning to go, keep in mind it's every second Tuesday, not every week.
