Stan is a Melbourne artist whose sound works across soul, alternative country, groove and rock. He draws on a wide range of influences: the blues and jazz of the 1950s and 60s, the soul and R&B of the 70s, and the funk and rock of the 80s. That's a fair bit of ground to cover in one set, and it explains why his music sits in a few different camps at once — the soul and groove side of things, the country lean, and the rock that ties it together.
Steel City Sue shares the bill, so you've got two acts on the one afternoon. Between them, they'll be pulling from those same soul and R&B roots that run through Stan's work, so the two sets should sit well together.
