Internationally acclaimed comedian Randy Feltface returns with his stand-up show Gimmick, presented by Ted Dainty.
Randy Feltface brings his new show Gimmick to the Civic Theatre on Monday 8 February 2027. It's part of an Australia and New Zealand tour produced and promoted by TEG Dainty.
If you've never come across him, Randy Feltface is an internationally acclaimed comedian and a self-described 'purple provocateur'. He's spent more than a decade batting away suggestions that he's nothing more than a novelty act, and Gimmick is the moment he decides to lean into it. The title says it all: he's fully embracing the absurdity of being a felt puppet doing stand-up for a living.
The show runs for an hour and blends existential dread, cultural commentary and relentless punchlines. He bills it as a tight, silly, non-emotional gag fest, so it's less about the heart-on-sleeve stuff and more about the jokes landing one after another. It's a full-length set, not a short spot, so there's plenty of room for the material to run.

There's a fair bit of history behind the puppet. Over more than twelve years, he's written and performed twelve solo shows and released eight comedy specials. He's appeared on Netflix and BBC Radio 4, picked up a nomination for best comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and made his US television debut on NBC's Bring The Funny. The Newcastle date is one stop on a wider tour across Australia and New Zealand, so this is your chance to catch him while he's on this side of the world. It's at the Civic Theatre on Monday 8 February 2027.
