A glitter-filled storytime extravaganza led by Newcastle's own Timberlina and friends, celebrating diversity and inclusion.
Rainbow Storytime comes to the Newcastle City Library on Saturday 22 August, with Newcastle's own Timberlina leading the way. It's a glitter-filled storytime extravaganza, and as the name suggests, it's built around storytelling rather than a stage play. Timberlina is joined by friends for a session they describe as an all-singing, all-dancing storytelling celebration of the city's commitment to diversity and inclusion.
If that sounds like a lot for a storytime, it's because it is. The whole thing is open to all ages, so it's as much for the adults as it is for the kids. The singing and dancing are woven right into the storytelling, and the glitter is part of the scene, not just an afterthought. It's one of the sessions in the Newcastle Libraries' what's-on programme, so it's a library event through and through.

There are a few practical things to keep in mind before you head in. Bookings are essential, and there's a minimum of two tickets per booking — usually an adult and any children coming along. Tickets become available two weeks before the session, so if you're planning to go, you'll want to be ready when they open. The session runs for 35 minutes, starting at 11:00 am, and it's free for all ages. You'll find it at the Newcastle Library, 15 Laman Street, Newcastle 2300.
