Film club screening of Nordic cinema at Tower Cinema, part of the Pappa Sven Nordic-themed events.
Pappa Sven's Nordic Film Club is back at Tower Cinema in Newcastle, with screenings running on the first Tuesday of every month from Wednesday 26 August through to Thursday 31 December 2026. It's a regular night for anyone who likes cinema from the Nordic countries, bringing a steady stream of films from that part of the world to a local screen.
The club is run by Pappa Sven, an authentic Nordic design and lifestyle store here in Newcastle. The film screenings are just one part of their wider Nordic programme, which runs throughout the year and includes International Women's Day movie nights, Waffle Day, Easter Fika, a Spring Loppis Swedish second-hand market, Cinnamon Bun Day and St Lucia. Many of those are run in partnership with the Newcastle Finnish school and Fika Cafe in Manly, so the whole thing is well-connected to the local Nordic community.
