Exhibition by Penelope Green celebrating Newcastle's coastline and ocean swimming community at Dixon Park Beach.
Penelope Green is bringing her photography to Dixon Park Beach from 25 September to 4 October, with the work hung along the fenceline for anyone walking past to see. It's a public exhibition, so you don't need to book or pay anything to have a look.
Green is an open-water swimmer and an award-winning ocean and coast-life photographer, and that double life is right there in the images. She grew up as a country kid with limited access to the coast, so she's never taken the sea for granted; her daily swims have become a way of reflecting on how the ocean challenges, uplifts and ultimately connects us. The photos celebrate Newcastle's coastline and the city's dynamic ocean-swimming community, the kind of thing you'll recognise if you spend any time down at the water.
