Micky Dolenz brings his brand-new live show celebrating 60 years of the Monkees, performing their hits in chronological order with multimedia storytelling.
Micky Dolenz plays the Civic Theatre on Wednesday 12 May 2027, as part of an Australian tour of ten shows. He's 81 now, the last surviving member of The Monkees, and the whole night is built around the band's history and the music that defined a generation.
The setlist follows the Monkees' hits in chronological order, so you'll hear them as they came: 'Pleasant Valley Sunday', 'I'm A Believer', 'I'm Not Your Stepping Stone', 'Last Train to Clarksville', 'Randy Scouse Git', 'Sometime In The Morning' and 'Daydream Believer'. He's backed by a multimedia stage showing moments from the band's history, and he fills the gaps with stories told with his usual warmth and wit. He still plays the tambourine, too.
It's not all old material, though. He's also playing songs from his solo EP Timeless, which came out on 4 September. The original TV show debuted in the US on 12 September 1966 and picked up two Emmys along the way. Dolenz remembers that on screen the Monkees never actually made it, but off screen they sold out concerts around the world and moved millions of records. He's still proud of what he achieved with his late Monkee brothers Davy, Peter and Michael.
