Rational Animals are back at The Dungeon, Adamstown Uniting Church from Thursday 3 September, with Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons as their final show of 2026. It's a run of four days: Thursday 3 and Friday 4 at 7:30pm, then Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 with matinees at 2:00pm and evening shows at 5:00pm. The play is by Sam Steiner, and this production puts Aoife Gregory and Samantha Lambert on stage.

Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons is a tender and funny rom-com about what we say, how we say it, and what happens when we can't say anything anymore. It's a play that takes a familiar setup — the opposites-attract rom-com — and uses it to look at bigger things like democracy and free speech. The critics have been kind to it: Time Out called it "a beautiful play about the beauty and preciousness of language", The Guardian said it "takes the can opener to a typical opposites-attract romcom in order to explore wider issues of democracy and free speech", and Broadway Baby described it as "a masterpiece of beautiful simplicity".

For Rational Animals, this is the last production of their 2026 season, and it follows their earlier runs of Bull and Consent, both of which were critically well-received. It's a 75-minute show, recommended for ages 14 and up, with content warnings for adult themes, coarse language and sexual references.
